Thank You 2010
01.01.2011
Sometimes life pushes you at such a pace that you mistake the journey for a race. Then you sit down at the end of it all and realize that the blessings weren't lost on you as you thought. For this reason, we must continue what we started last year by taking a moment to thank all those who have made 2011 memorable in its own right and kept us moving forward in the hopes of reaching the great lights:
Fans: Hundreds more of our debut CD were bought and downloaded this year which motivate us to keep at it. Indeed, a virtual high five goes out to all of you, who attend our shows for the 1st or 10th time; to you, who introduce our sounds to your friends; to you, who've called the radio stations asking about our single (and to confirm whether we're really called 'Nothing'); and to all of you who write or see us after a show to share your kind thoughts. You're the best.
Live 88.5FM: Our road still has a ways to go before we share golden stages with U2, Kings of Leon or Radiohead but that hasn't stopped a great local radio station (Live 88.5 fm) from repeatedly playing our music and promoting our shows. A special thanks to Noah Sabourin for your continued encouragement, Lee Wagner for vouching for us to open for an international artist, and to all the great radio show hosts and staff. Cheers to you.
Live Lounge/Eric Wehrle: We've played several stages and discovered a few more this year but the Live Lounge deserves particular recognition for its hospitality and Eric Wehrle- the Lounge's sound guru- who steers our sounds like no-one else has. Eric, one day...
Canoe FM- Thank you for continuing to play our tunes throughout Central Ontario. We haven't forgotten you either and look forward to stopping by again soon.
Honourable mentions:
Sen Rasaratnam- we haven't bugged you as much this yr but you're still a huge asset to our beloved website/ Yoav & co.: A couple of years ago, Luke sat in his brother's Vancouver loft where he heard captivating songs from an international singer he'd never heard of. Months later he attended the guy's concert and left with a strong desire to share the stage with him some day. The guy's name is Yoav, and last April, Nothing did just that./ Liane Chiblow: too bad we lost that old concert footage that would most definitely have gone viral. Nonetheless, it doesn't take away from the truly talented photo/videographer that you are. Maybe film that video this year?/ The Dragonboat Foundation: thanks for both wonderful opportunities to help raise money for great local charities by doing what we love best. Next stop: Ottawa Dragonboat Festival?
Stay tuned for more Nothing news.. We are confident that we're not yet as good as we're going to be.
